Jeremiah Davis All Tournament Team at River City Showdown.

Congratulations to Muncie Central Bearcat Jeremiah Davis who continues to make believers this July. Davis was named to the all-tournament team (only five players per age group chosen) at the River City Showdown in Memphis. http://memphisroar.com/2009/07/river-city-showdown-recap/

Davis plays alongside Dee Davis (Xavier) and Nic Moore of Warsaw, Indiana who are both excellent point guards in their own right. Indiana Elite Team Indiana also has Austin Etherington, Deng Leek, Cheir Ajou, Vinnie Zollo and other fine players. Davis is seen here from his freshman year in a Muncie Star Press photo.

The good Mongrel thought Jeremiah Davis was the most impressive and talented player on the team at the Adidas May Classic and again at the Kentucky Hoopfest this year. His Indiana Elite/Team Indiana squad made it to the finals of the 16U division before losing to Team Takeover. Earlier this summer Team Indiana won the Grassroots Shootout where Davis was also outstanding. Davis uses his big time athleticism and superior strength at 6'3 to get to the rim at will and has a pretty consistent outside shot and is a gifted passer and a strong athletic defender. There are questions about whether he is a poised decision maker with the ball but Davis seems to continue to answer those questions with improved decision making in July.
Billy Gillespie made waves when he offered Davis as an eighth grader but it is not clear if his UK offer is firm under Calipari or not. Indiana and Tennessee soon offered as well. Purdue, Cincinnati, Xavier, and hometown Ball State are some of the schools talked about with Davis the most as well. Davis is ranked #76 by Rivals.com and his July performance might spearhead a climb in the eyes of some national scouts.
